William J. Scherman

BIOGRAPHY

William J. Scherman has specialized in New Jersey Workers' Compensation Law for more than 35 years. He is proud to bring his expertise and experience to this firm where he can help more people get the help they deserve.

Born in Newark, New Jersey, he grew up there and in West Orange. He attended high school in New York and went to Queens College of CUNY with a year off to study abroad, majoring in English Writing, Literature, and History. He attended college at night while studying full time at a yeshiva during the day. He followed that with a Juris Doctor degree from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law of Yeshiva University.

He is admitted to the New Jersey State Bar and the New Jersey supreme Court as well as to the Federal District Court of New Jersey, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.

He is also a member of CERT – the Civilian Emergency Response Team – in Passaic County and an active member of Chaveirim, a civilian volunteer help organization. He also volunteers as a CASA – Court Appointed Special Advocate – for foster children in Essex County.

William has joined the Law Office of Patrick G. Patel as an Of Counsel in 2022 to continue his life’s work of representing individuals who have been injured on the job and ensuring they get the compensation that they deserve.
